Jean E. Fugate

Jean E. Fugate, age 89, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 7, 2022 at Heritage Assisted Living. She was born in Battle Creek on June 28, 1933 the loving daughter of Lawson and Dorothy (Budd) Rule. Jean retired from the Kellogg Company in 1993 after more than 36 years of faithful service. She was a member of the Kellogg 25-Year Club, and a former member of the American Legion Post #298 Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. Jean enjoyed wintering in Florida, attending events at the Barn Theatre, gardening, bingo, golfing, bowling, and spending time with her family.

Jean is survived by her sons, Ed (Toni) Fugate and Bill (Renee) Fugate, both of Augusta; her daughter, Dorothy (Evan) Shireman of Battle Creek; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Shireman, Jeremy Shireman, and David Shireman; a brother-in-law, George Moore; and several nieces & nephews. She was sadly preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Ann L. Graham and Alice L. Moore.
