Jeanne Elizabeth Draper

Jeanne Elizabeth Draper, age 82, of Battle Creek died peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 18, 2014 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born in Battle Creek on March 6, 1932 to Andrew "Scotty" and Elizabeth (Graham) Craig. For 18 months, as a young child, she lived in Scotland with her family. Jeanne was a 1950 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. She graduated from Wright Beauty Academy and attended nursing school at Kellogg Community College. Throughout most of her life, she cared for people in their homes, providing nursing services and assistance.

Jeanne was preceded in death by two husbands, Louis Denning, Sr. and Karl "Bud" Draper; her son, David B. Denning; her parents; a brother, Doug Craig, and a sister, Joyce Rush. Surviving are a son, Louie (Rose) Denning of Girard, two daughters, Liz (David) Kinnisten of Sarasota, Florida, Karla (Vince) Krizan of East Leroy; eight grandchildren, Erin (Guy) Hunneyman, Emily (Ryan) Dawson, Trisha (Jeremy) Iford, Alissa (Billy) Kinsey, Noland Ryan Denning, Sarah (Andrew) Williams, Jerrad VanNortwick and Jordan (Stacie) VanNortwick; eleven great-grandchildren, and a brother, John (Linda) Craig of Battle Creek.

Jeanne was a former Battle Creek marble champion; she enjoyed sports and was a follower of all "Mike Ditka" teams, the Detroit Lions and the Red Wings. She enjoyed crocheting, scratch off lottery tickets, Bingo and most of all, spending time with her family.

A memorial service to celebrate Jeanne's life will be held 12:30 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.
