Jeffrey L. "Jeff" Hunter

Jeffrey "Jeff" L. Hunter, age 59, of Battle Creek died unexpectedly onWednesday evening, November 26, 2014. He was born in Battle Creek on August 21, 1955 the loving son of Ronald M. and Donna (Foster) and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1973. Jeff dedicated more than 30 years of his life as a manager at Geerts Quality Water and also 18 years as a tax preparer at H&R Block.

Jeff married the "Love of His Life", Debra A. "Debbie" Heston in Battle Creek on August 3, 1974; she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Donna of Kalamazoo; his daughters, Courtney (Eric) Markos and Erin Hunter, both of Battle Creek; his three grandchildren, Haidyn, Hunter and Holden Markos; his sister, Debbie (Gary) Rugg; sisters & brothers-in-law, Terri Hunter, Jack & Mickey Heston, Dawn (Don) Heath, and many "special nieces & nephews". Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Hunter; two brothers, Marty and Steve Hunter, and his "special grandma", Mae Hunter.

Jeff truly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. A true "Grandpa", he was always there for his grandchildren's sporting events, practices and other memorable times. Jeff loved the outdoors, hunting & fishing and was an avid "Detroit Sports Fan" and enjoyed watching football.

The family will receive friends 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Jeff's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 with Pastor Ralph Cates of Victory Life Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
