Jenny M. (Hare) Titus

Jenny M. Titus, 87, of Battle Creek died peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence.

She was born December 5, 1933 in Kalkaska, MI to John W. and Sarah B. (Culltion) Hare. At age 11 Jenny moved with her family to Mancelona and then Alden, where she lived and attended Mancelona High School.

Jenny married Gerald Edward Titus in Traverse City on March 11, 1950. They had eleven children and raised them in Battle Creek. Gerald preceded Jenny in death on May 13, 2000.

Surviving are her children, Jeff Titus of Battle Creek, Gerald E. (Carol) Titus of Horton, David Titus of Battle Creek, Randy (Brenda) Titus of Three Rivers, Charlie (Cindy) Titus of Bellevue, Mary (Jim) McLeod of Bellevue; two daughters-in-law, Tania Titus and Virginia Hare both of Battle Creek; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 21 great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beth Carlisle of Battle Creek. In addition to her husband, Jenny was preceded in death by five sons, Martin "Mike" Titus, Andrew A Titus, Sr., Andrew A. Titus, Jr., Gary Titus and Larry Titus, a sister, Ida Hocott; two brothers, Oscar and Gordon Hare; her furry companion and buddy, always at her side, Rocky; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

Jenny was formerly employed at Champs and the Waterfront Restaurants. Jenny had a strong believe in God. She spent most of her life raising and caring for her family, because they were precious to her. Her daughter, Mary was her caregiver the last two years and her son, Randy as Jenny neared her end the past month. Hospice Care of SW Michigan cared for and were wonderful to Jenny and her family.

Friends will be received 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.

A graveside funeral service to celebrate Jenny's life will be officiated by Rev. Vince Lavieri at West Pennfield Hicks Cemetery 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
