Jerald Edwin "Jerry" Storm

Jerald Edwin "Jerry" Storm, age 75, of Richland, MI, died Thursday evening, June 6, 2013 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence of Kalamazoo, MI following a brief illness and surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry, the son of Arthur L. and Grace I. (Lancaster) Storm, was born on November 20, 1937 in Battle Creek, MI; he was a lifetime area resident and a 1956 graduate of Battle Creek Lakeview High School. He retired in 2004 after 47 years of faithful service as a Master Mechanic for Beach Products of Kalamazoo. Jerry was an outdoors man at heart and especially enjoyed fishing, gardening and bird watching. He was an avid woodworker and was known to friends and neighbors as "Mr. Fix-It!"

On June 29, 1957 in Battle Creek, Jerry was united in marriage to the former Norma Lee Coash. Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Norma; his two daughters, Jeanne M. (Thomas E.) Losey and Karen L. Patrick, both of Battle Creek; three grandchildren, Thomas A. Losey, Amanda L. (Danny) Ho and Anthony J. Losey and by two great grandchildren, Raven E. Losey and Daniel A. Ho. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Margaret and by two brothers, Carl and Keith.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Jerry's life was held on Friday, June 14th at 1:00 p.m. in Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland with the Rev. Mona K. Joslyn, Pastor of the Gull Lake United Methodist Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerry's honor may be directed to the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, 5473 Croyden Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI, 49009. The Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel is in charge of all the arrangements.
