Jerry Blane Monroe

Jerry Blane Monroe, age 76, of Ceresco passed away Sunday evening, November 25, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Battle Creek on March 15, 1942, the son of Merle and Iva (Rouse) Monroe and attended Battle Creek Public Schools. Jerry was employed at American Suzuki of Brea, California for more than 35 years. He was a member of the NRA and the Bellevue Conservation Club.

Jerry married the "Love of His Life", JoAnn (Leedle) Monroe in Battle Creek, MI on August 17, 1971; she survives. He is also survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Kristina & Jason Holibaugh of Battle Creek; and his sister, Joyce (Kienast) Ramsey of Florida. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Carl Monroe.

A true outdoorsman, Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, gardening, skeat and trap shooting. He also enjoyed motorcycles, Street Rods, attending car shows, NASCAR Racing, playing in his garage, and building his very own 1940 Chevy Street Rod. Jerry's true passion in life was spending time with his wife and family.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 30th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where a memorial service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 1st.
