Jesse "Buster" Jenkins

Jesse O. "Buster" Jenkins, 76, of Battle Creek, went to be with the Lord January 15, 2022. Jesse was born October 16, 1945 in Battle Creek to James and Mae (Angell) Jenkins. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver and the VA for 16 years.

Jesse loved watching NASCAR, football and the PGA Tour. He enjoyed listening to country music and especially loved taking trips through the VA to the Golden Age Games. He also liked to visit any place that had military significance. He also raced stock cars with his brothers.

Jesse is survived by his siblings, Dan Jenkins, Sally Jenkins, Lyle (Kathy) Jenkins and Helen Dean and close friends, James and Phil and his beloved cat, Lady. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Donna, Don and Jerold.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. A memorial service to celebrate Jesse's life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022 at East Leroy Community Church.
