John Edward Bradley

John Edward Bradley, 80 of Battle Creek died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

John was born June 15, 1941 in Jackson, Michigan the son of Edward Bernard and Gladys May (Garlick) Bradley. He grew up in Jackson, Michigan and was a 1959 graduate of St. John Catholic High School. John honorably served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany, during the time the Berlin Wall was being built. He was employed at the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center from 1980, until recently retiring on September 11, 2021.

John Edward Bradley was united in marriage to Sharon Elaine Calvin on January 2, 1990 in Battle Creek. Surviving are his wife, Sharon; children, Joseph (Natalie) Bradley of Jackson, Rebecca Sue (David) Stephens of Jackson, Laurie Wilson of Albion, Michelle (Jason) Chantrenne of Battle Creek, Tim Coomes of Battle Creek; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a brother David (Cheryl) Bradley of Florida, two sisters, Frances Croy of Jackson, Margaret (Herb) Bliss of Jackson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families and a cat, Ralph. John was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Kenneth Wilson.

John was baptized Catholic, believed in God, his faith; and continued to read his Bible. He enjoyed working in his yard and around the pool area. He enjoyed 50's music, tinkering with anything, and going to garage sales and flea markets with Sharon.

Military honors in honor of John's service will be presented by Fort Custer Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honor Guard 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2021 at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Inurnment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
