John E. Estelle

John Edward Estelle, 72, of Battle Creek died peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 27, 2013.

He was born May 2, 1941 in Battle Creek to Donald N. and Bertha Frances (Woodard) Estelle. John grew up in Battle Creek and was a 1959 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. He retired as a line operator at the Kellogg Company, where he was employed just under 25 years and took a medical disability in 1998. Prior to Kellogg's, John was employed at Kendall Electric and Nottke's Bowling Alley.

Surviving are his son, Brad (Nadia Dominguez) Estelle of Temecula, CA; daughter, Jodi Estelle; grandson Jon "Bird" Estelle; sister, Cindy (Mike) Tuttle of Coldwater; stepbrother, Chris (Leslie) Hoy of Phoenix, AZ; his former spouse and best friend, Linda Estelle of Battle Creek; niece, Angela Helton and nephew, John Helton.

John loved to bowl and play golf. He was a member of the 300 Club and won the Pro-Am phase of the Fazio Open in 1977. John enjoyed watching sports on TV and was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Bird.

Friends will be received 3:00-4:00 Thursday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013.
