John Edward Yepez

John Edward Yepez, 77, of Battle Creek passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024.

 

John was born September 23, 1946 in Battle Creek, the son of Samuel Yepez, Sr. and Billie Yepez. He served his country honorably in the Navy and was proud of his service. He enjoyed game shows, riding his motorcycle and loved spending time with his family. In ninth grade, he went steady with Kathleen Brunner, and the two were later united in marriage.

 

John is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kathy Travis; children, Angela Marie Yepez, John (Leslie) Christopher, Sabrina (Keith) Saggio, Kelly Babas; grandchildren, Bailey Gessner, Christopher Campbell, Hailee Ernsberger; stepchildren, Jennifer (Anthony) Francis and Jeffrey (Rashmi) Travis; step-grandchildren, Jake and Eli; brother, Samuel Yepez; sisters, Angela Scavana and Linda Trailor; and special daughter, Beth Holibaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Diana Payne; brothers, Michael Yepez and John Wilemon; birth mother, Jean and stepfather, Kenneth Jurs.
