Specialist Jonathan Alan "John" Cain, USAMNG, age 30, of Springfield, MI died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on July 15, 1984, the loving son of Willis R. Jr. and Rebecca S. "Becky" (Fielder) Cain and graduated from Potterville High School with the Class of 2003. John has faithfully served his country for more than nine years as a member of the United States Army Michigan National Guard, serving in Kuwait from 2010 to 2011.
John married the "Love of His Life", Christina A. "Chrissy" Kyle in Grand Ledge, MI on December 19, 2008; she survives. He is also survived by his beautiful children, Ryleigh S. and Zachary A. Cain; his parents, Rebecca S. "Becky" Cain of Potterville, MI and Willis R. (Pam) Cain Jr. of Ft. Laramie, WY. His grandparents, Gayle Cain & Lester Kyle. His brothers & sisters, Jessicca (Kevin) Holland, Joseph R. Cain, Andrew Sine, Kristen Sine, and Elizabeth Sine. Chrissy's parents, Jason & Mary Kyle. His sister-in-law, Angel (Justin) Brooks, nieces Erika and Peyton, and his nephew Terry. Along with several aunts, uncles & cousins. John was preceded in death by his grandparents Willis R. Cain Sr., Moten & Ruth Fielder, and Linda Kyle. An aunt, Bonnie Halbeisen and an uncle, Daniel Fielder.
John had a great sense of humor and loved playing pranks and practical jokes. He also enjoyed bowling, watching TV, especially the History Channel, NCIS, James Bond movies, Batman and Scooby Doo. He liked playing video games, bonfires, and truly loved spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate John's life will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, April 21, 2015 with Major Brian Martinus, Chaplain of the Michigan Army National Guard, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will continue the celebration of John's life with a luncheon at the Augusta VFW Post#7956.
