Jonathan “Jonnie” Palone, age 25 of Mattawan unexpectedly passed away on May 5, 2024. He was born in Battle Creek on February 27, 1999, the son of Philip and Amy (Vinzant) Palone. Jonnie graduated as a 4.0 student from Loy Norrix High School with the Class of 2017, furthered his education at Western Michigan University and managed a Subway restaurant for several years.
Jonnie is survived by his father, Phil (Connie) Palone; grandfather, Papa Charlie Palone; grandmother, Ruth Levey; sisters & brothers, Beth Long, Branden Palone, Brad Lambert, Karley Palone, and CJ Riddle; niece & nephews, Braylen Brown, Brynlee West, Cole Palone and Kharti Riddle; and his Godmother, Marsha Brown-Tolson. He was sadly preceded by his mother, Amy; grandfather, Papa Bob Levey; nephew, Carter Palone; and the “Love of His Life”, Meghan Lewis.
Jonnie was an awesome guy with a huge heart that would help anyone in need, and had a truly funny personality. He was a true “rocker” who loved attending concerts and playing his guitar, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family & friends, especially his cats.
Jonnie’s family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 2:30 p.m., Thursday, May 16th in the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2435 W. Territorial Rd. Battle Creek, MI 49015. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Companion Cats, 29 Hoag St., Battle Creek, MI 49014 or Summit Pointe, would be appreciated.
