Jonathan James Shea, 30 of Galesburg, Scotts and formerly of Battle Creek lost his battle with depression on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

Jonny was born July 5, 1990 the son of Timothy L. and Michelle L. Shea. He grew up in Battle Creek and attended Battle Creek Central High School and received his GED through the program at the Miller-Stone Building. Jonny was currently employed at Graphic Packaging in Battle Creek, using his mechanical ability to fill in wherever he was needed.

Surviving are his daughter, Rose Shea of Portage; his parents, Tim and Michelle of Galesburg; sister, Melissa Dyas of Portage; brother, Jacob Shea of Galesburg; a niece, Brooklyn Krontz; a nephew, Brayden Krontz; four aunts Tracy, Cathy, Cheri, Jamie and three uncles Pat, Brian, Randy.

Jonny loved spending time with his daughter, Rose. He was the fuel at a bonfire, enjoyed the outdoors and camping. He enjoyed working on vehicles and had been working with his Dad building a 78 Chevy from the ground up. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his daughter, Rose and family. Jonny will be remembered as an amazing dad and wonderful son and big brother.

Jonny's family will receive friends in Richland at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m Saturday, August 1, 2020. Close family and friends are also invited to join Jonny's family at Tim and Michelle's home for a bonfire in Jonny's memory and some nourishment and snacks after 6:30 p.m.
