Joseph Lee "Joe" "Joey" Barnes

Joseph Lee "Joe" Barnes, age 49, of Battle Creek sadly passed away Sunday evening, December 18, 2022. He was born in Battle Creek on November 5, 1973, the son of Donald W. "Donnie" and Linda Kay (Keown) Barnes and attended Battle Creek Central High School. Joe worked as a CNC Machinist for more than 23 years.

Joe is survived by his mother, Linda Kay Barnes of Battle Creek; his daughters, Jalyn (Jacob) Robertson of Loves Park, IL, Jenna Barnes and Jurnie Barnes, both of Roscoe, IL; a grandson, Jason Robertson; a sister, Fawn Barnes; and a brother, Cory Barnes. He was preceded in death by his father, Donnie.

Joe loved all things sports and was an avid University of Michigan and Detroit Lions fan. He also loved family gatherings and working on and riding his motorcycles.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Joe's life will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 26th at the SSG Michael A. Dickinson, II American Legion Post #257, 7475 B.
