Joseph Sofia

Joseph "Joe" Sofia, 89, of Tipp City, Ohio and formerly of Battle Creek died unexpectedly on Saturday evening, March 9, 2013. He was born in Battle Creek on October 22, 1923 the son of Michael and Mary (Orlando) Sofia. Joe retired from the Clark Equipment Co. in 1982 after many years of service in the Engineering Dept.
Joe married Marion Lou Bothne in Battle Creek on June 22, 1946; she sadly preceded him in death on January 14, 1991. He is survived by his loving sons, Michael J. & Shirley Sofia of Grand Rapids and Richard D. & Judy Sofia of Troy, Ohio; 7 wonderful grandchildren and 3 beautiful great-grandchildren. Joe was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charlie and Frank.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately at Memorial Park Cemetery.
