Joyce A. Harnden

Joyce A. Harnden, 78, of Delton, went home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2026. Joyce was born April 1, 1948, in Battle Creek, Michigan. She received her master’s degree from Western Michigan University, where she met her future husband, Carl Harnden. They were married on October 10, 1970.

Joyce enjoyed reading and playing cards. Later in life, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. She loved her family deeply and was equally grateful for the friendships she formed throughout her life. She treasured the time spent together, the conversations shared, and the many memories made with those she loved. Joyce’s love for the people in her life was evident in the way she cared for and cherished them. Her faith in God brought her comfort and strength throughout her life, and her family finds comfort knowing that she is now at peace in the loving presence of her Lord. Though she will be deeply missed, they hold onto the promise that this goodbye is not forever, but until they meet again in God’s presence.

Joyce is survived by her two children, Ryan (Mina) Harnden and Rachel (Ben) Albrecht; and her grandchildren, John, James, Mila, Annika, and Alec. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl, in 2025.

A memorial service celebrating Joyce’s life and honoring her faith will be held Sunday, November 8th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Gull Lake Bible Church.
