Joyce "Joy-Joy" Lynn Nunley, died Monday, December 7, 2015. "Joy-Joy" was born March 10, 1981, in Battle Creek, Michigan, and was raised by her late maternal grand-mother, Joyce Dale. She attended the public schools and graduated in the Operation Grad Program. She later attended Kellogg Community College and received her Nurse Assistant Certification.
She worked at several nursing homes before beginning her employment with the Veterans Administration Medical Center as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
She was a gentle loving person, who shared her happiness and joy with everyone. She loved her friends, family and would help anyone who needed help. She was an amazing singer, and she wanted to record a gospel album. She would sing to the residents that were in her care.
"Joy-Joy" is survived by her father, Wilde Bill (Sandy) Jones, of Delton; her mother, Janessa (Rock) Nunley, of Battle Creek; brothers, Keith (Niki) Nunley, Joseph (Brandi) Nunley, and Thomas (Elizabeth) McShan, all of Battle Creek; aunt, Nerissa Nunley of Battle Creek; uncle, Milard "Art" Nunley of Battle Creek; special aunts, Dawn (Bob) Merlone of Bellevue, Jo Nunley of Kalamazoo, and Jennifer Evans of Battle Creek. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Funeral services to celebrate Joy's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Lakeview Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
