Joyce E. Ramsdell

Joyce E. Ramsdell, 79, of Battle Creek, died April 11, 2018. Joyce was born October 5, 1938 in Battle Creek to Oliver and Virginia (Williams) Strole. Joyce was an accomplished, well-known business woman in Battle Creek and owned Ferrari's Hair Salon in partnership with Joe and Carol Ferrari for over 50 years.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 48 years, Louis; three daughters, Susan (Roger) Saylor, Peggy (John) Gossner and Cari (Brian) Bevins; five grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and three sisters, Judy, Marsha and Jo. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and infant son, Gregory Ludlow and a grandson, Vincent Elizondo.

Joyce loved watching game shows and cooking shows and vacationing to Florida twice per year. When she was younger, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing bingo with her mother. She loved to shop, especially at Macy's, and even had a Macy's bedroom at home where her family could visit.

Funeral services to celebrate Joyce's life will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2018 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, officiated by Rev. Thomas J. Ott. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
