Judith Ann Buschini

September 24, 1945 — November 6, 2023

Battle Creek

Judith Ann “Judy” Buschini passed away peacefully at home Monday, November 6th surrounded by her family at the age of 78.

She was born in Jackson Michigan to Walter and Freda Kulpinski, the 5th of 6 children. She grew up attending mass at St. Stanislaus and loved to cruise the ‘Ave’ with her sisters and friends.

She graduated from Jackson High and worked at Jackson Tobacco & Candy where she would meet her husband Don in 1966, she would go on to marry Don Buschini in 1967 and moved to Battle Creek. They had 2 children together, traveled to such places as Aruba, Venezuela, Bahamas, and Jamaica. They spent summers riding motorcycles, RVing and lounging in the pool. The marriage ended in divorce after 32 years but they would go on to remain very good friends including Dons new wife Nancy, as that was Judy’s loving and welcoming nature.

She worked part-time at Big D grocery and later became the manager of the shoe dept. at Jacobson’s before going to work at Kellogg’s. She would later retire after 27 years of service where she was also a union steward and member of the 25-year club.

Judy loved to work with silk flowers and created beautiful arrangements for friends and family’s weddings and showers. After retirement she worked at Horrocks, Michaels and Wickert Dental Lab. When she wasn’t spending time with her ‘favorite’ grandchildren, she volunteered as a Red Cross clown.

She loved to vacation in Florida every year and invited her sisters and friends to join her and they made the best memories, some years even staying with Don & Nancy.

She loved her yorkies and spent many years breeding them with her best friend and partner in crime Fay.

Judith is survived by her daughter, Stacy May; her son, Dominic (Tiffany) Buschini; grandchildren, Gina May Ryver (Andrew) of Boise Idaho, Ryan May (Alisha VanNortwick) of Battle Creek, Connor Buschini and Reese Buschini both of Kalamazoo; her great-grandchildren, Denver and Ezra Ryver of Boise Idaho; brother, Jerry Kulpinski; sisters, Elaine Smith of California, Cindy (Dave) Wilson of Jackson; brother-in-law Doug Shaw of Jackson and  best friend Fay Wickens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nancy Shaw, Claudia (Leon) Bryzynski; brother-in-law Ted Smith, and sister-in-law Judy Kulpinski.

The family will receive friends 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where a memorial service to celebrate her life will begin at 11:00 a.m.  The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at   https://vimeo.com/event/3861129 or by clicking the link below.    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local humane society, in hopes other pets will have a life as good as hers did.  Personal messages for the family and favorite memories of Judy may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
