Judy Lynne McCormack

June 23, 1950 — April 27, 2024

Battle Creek

Judy Lynne McCormack, 73, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024.  She was born June 23, 1950 in Marshall, MI to Lorenzo and Ruth (Willis) Allen.  Raised in Marshall, MI, she graduated from Marshall High School in the class of 1969.

Judy worked in the office at Fort Custer in Battle Creek for several years.  When she left her position there, she was given a recommendation letter of the highest praise by a colonel on the base.  Judy was very proud of this, and kept the letter close throughout her life.  Eventually Judy became the Bar Manager at the American Legion Hall in Springfield, MI, and spent several years there serving its patrons.

In her free time, Judy planted a lovely flower garden in her backyard, and she looked forward to choosing new hanging baskets for it each spring. She was devoted to her dear dog, Boz, when he was alive.  Judy and Faye participated in the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk together for more than 20 years, and Judy enjoyed camping for this annual tradition.  They would also travel to Detroit in the summertime so that Judy could watch her treasured Tigers play ball.  Judy loved her family unconditionally, and played a vital role in keeping everyone connected.  Probably most of all, Judy loved being a grandmother.

She is survived by her life partner, Claudette Faye Richmond; son, Michael McCormack (Leslie); granddaughter, Kennedee McCormack; sister, Phyllis LaFountain (Lyle); sister, Mary Lou Skelley (William); as well as 3 nieces and 3 nephews and their families which include many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Per Judy's wishes, cremation has taken place, and her remains will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek.  A private service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.  Personal messages for the family and favorite memories of Judy may be placed at
