Julie Christine Strieff-Hancock

Julie Christine Strieff-Hancock, 74, of Battle Creek died at home after a six year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Julie was born August 20, 1947 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Henry Andrew and Florence Louise (Brockway) Strieff. She was a 1965 graduate of Harper Creek High School and Homecoming Queen. Julie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Central Michigan University. She taught Freshman English and Journalism at Harper Creek High School, retiring after 34 years.

Julie Christine Strieff was united in marriage to Robert Dean Hancock on July 7, 1995 in Battle Creek. Surviving are her husband, Bob; step-daughter, Jessica (Andy) Eldridge of Battle Creek; two granddaughters, Mya and Clare Eldridge; a sister, Janie D. Kirsch of Angels Camp, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families and her dogs and companions, Sugar and Junior. Julie was preceded in death by her parents Florence and Henry Strieff.

Julie enjoyed reading, flower and vegetable gardening, hunting for antiques, going to Vegas and spending time with her granddaughters. Julie will be remembered as a woman who cared deeply about others and was compassionate about the welfare of animals.

Friends will be received 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where a service to celebrate Julie's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022.
