Karen L. Brookmyer

October 3, 1941 — August 12, 2022

Karen L. Brookmyer, 80 of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 12, 2022. She was born on October 3, 1941, the daughter of Dale and Vera Rowe. She graduated from Marshall High School 1959.

Karen is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, spending time with her family, entertaining on her boat on lake Michigan and her home on Wall Lake. Karen was sure to be at every sporting event, 4H and horse show for her grandchildren.

Karen was an avid cook and made many meals and dishes for neighbors, family and friends. It was always a treat to enjoy her cooking.

She also enjoyed her time volunteering with Altrusa International of Battle Creek. Karen was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Karen is survived by her children, Robert Beatty and Kimberly Hall; her grandchildren, Jennifer and Jacob Hall; her siblings, James (Carolee) Rowe, Patricia (Bill) Slayton, Victoria (Thom) Unger and Christopher (Jeanne) Rowe. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Joseph Brookmyer.

Funeral services will be on Friday Aug. 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Karen's name to The Altrusa club P.O. Box is 861 , Battle Creek, Mi 49015. Arrangements are by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
