Karen L. Hite, age 78 of Galesburg died peacefully at her home on Monday evening, March 11, 2024. She was born in Battle Creek on April 17, 1945, the daughter of Clarence and Georgia (Mench) Taylor.
Karen is survived by her children, Lorraine “Lori” Baker of Galesburg, Richard (Stephanie) Whipple of Florida and Jack (Tina) Whipple of Augusta; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Sue Holcomb; and her dear friend, Pam Bryant. She was sadly preceded in death by her grandson, Kenny Baker II; her former husband, Clyde L. Whipple Jr.; her parents; and siblings, Jack, Raymond, Andy, David, Wayne Taylor and Dorothy Dunithan.
Karen was always a straight shooter and would tell you how it was without sugarcoating anything. She enjoyed watching Westerns, listening to the “Old” country music, drawing, arts & crafts, and going out to eat with Pam. Most of all, Karen loved spending time with her family and her cat “Baby” and dog “Tang”
