Kathryn Sue (Jacob) Eberhardt, 80, of Battle Creek, Michigan died peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at home, with her family at her side.
Kathryn “Kathy” (Jacob) Eberhardt
February 20, 1946 – September 30, 2026
Kathryn “Kathy” Eberhardt, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, with her daughters at her side.
Kathy was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on February 20, 1946, to Henry L. and Marjorie T. (Black) Jacob. She was the youngest of five children and grew up surrounded by family and faith. Kathy attended 12 years at St. Philip Catholic Schools, where she formed many of the lifelong friendships and memories that remained important to her throughout her life. She later graduated from Kellogg Community College with her Associates in Accounting. She started working for the Draft Board in 1965 and then worked as an Instructor for the Federal Government Department of the Air Force retiring from Lackland Air Force Base in 2000. Upon her retirement, she formed KSE Consulting, and continued Instructing government employees for several years.
Kathy married Paul Kalinosky, and together they welcomed two daughters, Sarah (Greg) Parker and Theresa (Kevin) Hirakis. Later in life, Kathy found a wonderful partner in Fred Eberhardt. The two were married for 41 years until Fred’s passing in 2023. Kathy’s greatest joy in life was Fred, her daughters, granddaughters, great grandchildren and family.
Kathy lived a blessed life filled with family, friendships, travel, laughter, weekly poker games and countless adventures. She loved traveling to Las Vegas, taking cruises, golfing, and spending time at the gym. Kathy was very competitive in everything, especially when it came to cards. She could be heard saying “There’s no love in cards and war!”
One of Kathy and Fred’s most memorable shared experiences was volunteering every year at the PGA Championships in San Antonio, Texas. She loved the excitement of the tournaments, interacting with the players and their caddies, collecting PGA memorabilia and sharing those stories and memories with her family.
She leaves behind her daughters, Sarah (Greg) Parker and Theresa (Kevin) Hirakis, along with her four granddaughters, Kailey (Brandon) Jominy, Marisa (Mark Floro) Parker, Megan (Jeremy) Parker and Julia (Jamie) Shaffer; eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Thomas Jacob; extended family, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Kathy joins her beloved husband, Fred, her parents, two sisters, Jeannette Jacob and Martha Nelson and her brother David Jacob.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that she lived a full life and was deeply loved. Kathy will be remembered for her beautiful personality, lively and competitive spirit, love of adventure, devotion to her family, and the friendships she cherished so deeply.
Friends will be received 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where the Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Kathryn will be laid to rest with her husband, Fred.
