Kathryn Ann Scygiel

Kathryn Ann “Kathy” Scygiel, age 74 of Richland, MI and formerly of Sodus, MI passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2024. She was born in Benton Harbor, MI on September 27, 1949, the loving daughter of Zigmund and Ann (Brzuska) Mileski and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Western Michigan University in 1971. She was employed at Benton Harbor Engineering, where she met Dennis W. Scygiel.

Kathy married Dennis in Benton Harbor on July 5, 1975; he survives. She is also survived by her daughters, Laura (Matt) Lesko, Karen (Ron) Kintup and Amanda (Maryna) Bratschitsch; her grandchildren, Olivia & Thomas Lesko, Mary, Emily & Cara Bratschitsch; her brother, Alan Mileski; and her sister, Janet Schlienz. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents. 

Kathy attended St. Ann Catholic Church in Augusta. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed knitting & crocheting, reading, and listening to music. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her beloved pets.
