Kathy V. Barbree

Kathy V. Barbree, 72, of Battle Creek, died February 3, 2022. Kathy was born October 4, 1949 in Battle Creek to Keith and Marjorie (Perkins) Organ. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and married Roy Barbree on October 20, 1967.

Kathy was a dedicated employee and cashier at Meijer in Battle Creek for over 30 years. She was also very active in the union. She enjoyed baking cookies, but her main passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Kathy and Roy loved children of all ages, and always welcomed them into their home.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Roy; their two sons, Jerry Barbree and Michael (Jammie) Barbree; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren (plus one on the way); several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews and a sister, Becky (Luke) Palmer.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Charlie and Eula Barbree; two brothers, Larry Organ and Rick VanderVeen and a sister, Margaret Parsons.
