Kay T. Phares

Kay T Phares, age 73, of Battle Creek, passed away at home on November 22, 2020. She joined her mother, Marjorie J. Polcik and siblings Brenda A. Cronk, Vicki S. Knapp, and Robert E. Knapp in Heaven. We will remember Kay especially for her patience, generosity, love and devotion for her family.

Kay was born in Owosso and lived most of her life in Battle Creek, Michigan. In 2005, she retired from serving the children of this community as a teacher at Washington and Verona Elementary Schools. Kay enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Kay is survived by her sister, Debora L. Beronja; her children, Jennifer E. C. Phares and Chad E. Winterland of Dacono, Colorado, Meredith E. Phares of Topeka, Kansas, and Nicholas I. and Teresa A. Phares of Pensacola, Florida; her three grandchildren, Morgan E., Alexis A. and Paxton V. Phares; and several nieces and nephews. She was the heart of our family and we will love her always.

Kay was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother "Grandma Kay," aunt and friend. Her kind and gentle nature influenced so many lives.
