Keith G. Coller

August 9, 1931 — February 23, 2021

Keith G. Coller Sr., 89, of Bellevue, passed away with his family by his side on February 23, 2021. Keith was born August 9, 1931 in Battle Creek to Edison and Leola (Tooker) Coller. Keith attended Oak Grove School of Lee Lake and Marshall Public Schools. Keith married the former Doris Lawrence on November 18, 1950. They were married for 70 years when she passed in December of 2020. Keith worked at a golf course and Grand Trunk Rail Road but spent the majority of his working career with Post Cereals, retiring in 1989 after 38 years of service.

Keith enjoyed doing many things in the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, gardening, camping and birding, all of which he did with Doris by his side. Of all the things he loved, he loved being a father and grandfather the most. Keith liked to play cards; euchre rummy and cribbage were his favorites. He was a member of the Post Sportsman Club, the Eagles Lodge #299 and the Post 25 Year Club.

Keith could often be found on Waubascon Lake, working on his 80-acre farm, in the garden, or tinkering in his garage, where him and Doris enjoyed watching the world go by. Keith believed in working hard, there was always something that needed to be done, and it was better to do it today than tomorrow. Keith knew the difference between a want and a need, the value of a dollar, and believed you only bought what you had the cash to pay for. Keith enjoyed being the foreman of his four-grandkid crew. He tried to pass on as much knowledge and life experience as the grandchildren would allow.

Keith is survived by his three children, Keith Coller Jr., Julie Coller and Roger (Debbie) Coller; grandchildren, Michael DeRyder, Brian (Angela) Coller, Melissa (Nick) Bender, Julie (Ryan) Dickey; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Breslin Bender; and a brother, Bill (Sue) Coller, and all the walleye and bluegill in Michigan lakes and rivers he has not yet caught.

Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, brothers Edison, Robert and Richard Coller; four sisters, June Eisen, Juanita Shear, Mary Wright and Joan Strong and too many great hunting dogs to name.

Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021, at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services to celebrate Keith's life will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4th, officiated by Rev. Chad Parmalee. The service will be live streamed at the following link: https://vimeo.com/518329982. Interment will follow at Assyria Cemetery.
