Dr. Keith Morrill, D.D.S., 77, of Battle Creek died peacefully at home with his family at his side on Monday, May 15, 2017.
Keith was born July 17, 1939 in Lake Odessa, Michigan to Clifton A. and Julia M. (Wilson) Morrill. He grew up in Grand Ledge, Michigan and was a 1957 graduate of Grand Ledge High School. Keith attended DePauw University for three years in the pre-dental program, received his Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan. Keith came to Battle Creek in the early 1970's as a supervisor and dentist for the KCC Dental Hygiene Program, where he worked until 1981, when Keith established Oak Ridge Dental Practice in Battle Creek. He cared for his patients and their families until selling the practice in 2013. After that, he once again supervised dentistry at Kellogg Community College Dental Hygiene Program part-time. Recently he was a Dentist Locum Tenens.
Keith was united in marriage to Donna K. Newell on August 11, 1973 in Battle Creek. Surviving are his wife, Donna; son, Robert (Kara) Morrill of Indianapolis, Indiana; three daughters, Patricia "Tricia" (Dr. Brian) Hays of Kalamazoo, Jennifer Morrill, Nichole "Nikki" (Greg) Watts of Mattawan; four grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Morrill, Elle and Sienna Watts; and a brother, Dr. Charles Morrill of Grand Rapids. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Morrill.
Keith was a life member of the Michigan Dental Society, the Michigan State University and University of Michigan Alumni Clubs and Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and its Gold Circle. He was a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society and the Presidents Club Honor Roll Donor for the School of Dentistry at the University of Michigan. . Keith was a former member of Battle Creek Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf. He was a star multiple sport athlete in high school and college and enjoyed sports his entire life. He also enjoyed biking, traveling and attending the Chesterfield Dances. Keith was an artist by heart and a dentist by profession. He was very tech savvy and took pictures of family and friends and made video keepsakes. Most of all Keith loved attending and watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. His life was all about his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather; a treasured friend and a respected professional.
Keith requested that he be cremated and that no public service be held. In his memory please share your memories with his family and how he touched your life while he was living.
