Keith S. Zull, 82, of Battle Creek died at Bronson Battle Creek on Sunday, September 15, 2013, after a long illness.
He was born in Marshall, MI on October 13, 1930, to Ralph and Alice (Wood) Zull. Keith was raised in Battle Creek, was a 1949 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and received an accounting degree from Kellogg Community College in 1971. Keith owned and operated Quality Furniture Plus Antiques in Urbandale. He was previously employed as paperboy for the Battle Creek Enquirer, a bell hop and bus boy at the former Battle Creek Sanitarium Hospital, a teller at the former Security National Bank, employed at Oliver Aviation, Clark Equipment Co., Two Legs Pant Co., at Bishop Furniture 1951-59, was a manager at a furniture store in South Bend; managed the Men's & Boy's Departments at the former L. W. Robinson Men's Department, managed the Big & Tall Shop at Cole's Clothes in downtown Battle Creek and was a route salesman for Frito-Lay Co.
Keith married Roberta "Bobbie" Wetherill-Zull July 11, 1998 in Battle Creek. Surviving are his wife, Bobbie;
his daughter, Victoria S. "Vickie" Hathcock of Albion, his son, Mark M. (Sara) Zull of Huntsville, AL; five grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Hysell, Heidi Zull, Craig Hathcock, Nicole Hathcock, Sharidy (Steve) MacCord; four great-grandchildren, Maggie, Archer, Hunter, Carson; and a brother, Wendell (Charlene) Zull of Battle Creek. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beatrice Dalton and Eunice West.
Keith was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and a member of Masonic Lodge #12 F & AM. He was a former member of Pennfield Exchange Club, Pennfield Optimist Club and a former Pennfield Township Board Trustee for 16 years. He enjoyed fishing, deer and turkey hunting, the spring mushroom season and always had a joke to share. Keith loved the auction circuit, social networking with his customers and especially spending time with his family.
Friends will be received 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013. Interment will follow at Lee Center Cemetery in Lee Township.
