Kevin M. Sanderson

Kevin Mark Patrick Sanderson, 70, of Battle Creek, Michigan died on Monday, August 17, 2026, at home after a brief illness.

Kevin was born July 24, 1956, in Battle Creek, Michigan, one of five sons to Glenn Dale and Marguerite Mary (Reel) Sanderson. Kevin was baptized, received the sacraments and confirmed at St. Philip Catholic Church in Battle Creek. He grew up in Battle Creek, was a 1974 graduate of St. Philip Catholic Central High School and attended Argubright Business College. Kevin was a longtime radio DJ and announcer. He began his career at Keener 14 (WKFR) in Battle Creek, and later worked for radio stations in Jackson, Ann Arbor and Detroit, Michigan. These included Q95 (WKQI) and Smooth Jazz V98.7 (WVMV). He was a traffic reporter on Detroit Fox and various Detroit stations, as well as iHeart Radio.

Kevin and many talents and interests. His hobbies included photography, creating animated films, and building web sites. He was student of radio history and a fan of many types of music, but especially of ABBA. Kevin had a keen interest in genealogy and was a valued member of the Sanderson Genealogy group on Facebook. He was kind and loyal and always went out of his way to help friends and family. He will be greatly missed.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Marguerite; four brothers, Glenn D., Edward R., Eric M., and Blair L. Sanderson. Surviving are his sister-in-law, Kathryn (wife of Blair) Sanderson of Chicago; several cousins in the Battle Creek area, and many friends and colleagues.
