Kinzy Neal Turpin

Kinzy Neal Turpin, 31, resident of Kalamazoo, passed away suddenly on Thursday June 13, 2024 doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle. Kinzy was born in Battle Creek, Michigan and grew up on the family farm in Delton, Michigan. Kinzy was the husband of Courtney (Lewis) Turpin and father of Wyatt Turpin. 

Kinzy graduated from Gull Lake High School in 2011, and from Grand Valley State University in 2015 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He was employed by The State of Michigan as a probation officer, a profession in which he enjoyed helping others. Kinzy was a talented artist, dinosaur expert, avid hiker and explorer, and a connoisseur of Michigan breweries. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and teaching Wyatt to fly, hang glide, and to belly laugh. 

Kinzy attended Radiant Church in Richland. He was baptized and confirmed at Battle Creek First Presbyterian Church as a youth.

Surviving him are his wife, Courtney; son, Wyatt; parents, Jana and Lawrence Turpin of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother Josiah Turpin (Morgan); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved dog Captain.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Neal and Glenda Henry, Raymond B and Laura Belle Turpin. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, in Richland, Michigan with Pastor Lorenzo Small officiating. The service will be live-streamed by following the link https://vimeo.com/event/4400100.

The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday June 21st, 2024 at the funeral home and again at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
