Kristina Lynn O'Neal

Kristina Lynn “Kris” O’Neal, age 55 of Battle Creek unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024.  

Kristina was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on April 1, 1969, the loving daughter of Ronald and Barbara (Honeywell) Chaple.  She lovingly served as an elementary school teacher for more than 22 years.  Kris previously taught at the Deerwood Elementary School in Kissimmee, Florida and was currently a third-grade teacher with the Lakeview Public School District at the Westlake Elementary School in Battle Creek.  

Kris’ true passion in life was teaching her elementary children, and she had an incredible Love for each of them. She also Loved her Saturday Facetimes with her granddaughter, Katherine and truly looked forward to seeing her each week.  Kris also enjoyed all types of crafting, puzzles and traveling.

Kris is survived by her children, Kyle (Abby) O’Neal and Kayleigh (Devin) Bartnikowski; her grandchildren, Katherine O’Neal and Simon Bartnikowski; her loving companion, Karen Cochensparger; her parents, Ron and Barbara Chaple; her brother, Richard (Karen) Chaple; her nephews & niece, Austin Chaple, Forrest (Jessica) Chaple and Brooklynn Chaple; and her best friend, Louise Steuer. 

The family will receive friends 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 30^th at the Bedford Bible Church, 21964 N. Bedford Rd.
