Larry L. Marble, age 75, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday morning, November 11, 2021 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Battle Creek on March 11, 1946. Larry graduated from Lakeview High School where he was a member of the Swim & Basketball teams, and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. Larry retired from Ralston Foods in 2006 after more than 38 years.
Larry married Barbara "Barb" Burggrabe at the First Congregation Church, Battle Creek on September 13, 1986; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Matthew (Ryan Lothschultz) Marble of Battle Creek, Jonathan (Jen) Marble of Battle Creek, and Kristen (Brandon) Bucklin of Richland; five grandchildren, Jackson, Brynnley, Kaia, Blayke, and Kruz; and several nieces & nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Spinney; his father, Carl Cooper; and his sister, Peggy Young.
Larry was a member of the American Legion Post #298, Battle Creek and the BCTGM Local #3, Battle Creek. He enjoyed going to the drag races, bowling, playing softball, and he truly loved to golf.
The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Funeral services with full military honors will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, November 19th at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the American Heart Association and the Binder Park Zoo, would be appreciated.
