Larry Steven Towery

Larry Steven Towery, age 46 of Battle Creek sadly died unexpectedly on Thursday morning, November 23, 2023 at Bronson Battle Creek. 

Larry was born in Battle Creek on December 7, 1976, the son of Larry E. and Susan D. (Eberhard) Towery.  He attended Bellevue Public Schools and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.  Larry was currently employed as a maintenance supervisor with Republic Services.

Larry married Alicia C. Cook in Battle Creek on August 17, 2019; she survives.  He is also survived by their children, Shilo (Alexia) Towery, Dakota (Katylynn) Towery, Tempest Towery, Ryan Cook, and Kenna (Joe) Mathews; their grandchildren, Madilyn, Tucker and Unni; his dad, Larry E. (Marie) Towery; his brother, Tony Towery; and several nieces & nephews.  Larry was preceded in death by his mom, Susan and his sister, Kimberly. 

Larry was an extremely active member of the Oscar Brady American Legion Post #298, Sons of the American Legion Squadron #298, and was the current director of the American Legion Riders #298. Larry was a very giving man, who was always willing to step up and help a veteran or anyone in need, whether it be giving advice, helping to fix a car or lend a hand with a home project.  He enjoyed watching college football, camping, riding his motorcycle, traveling and going to concerts with Alicia, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held 12:00 Noon Sunday, May 19th at the American Legion Post #298, 228 North 20^th Street Battle Creek, MI 49017.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Legion Riders Post #298, 228 North 20^th Street Battle Creek, MI 49017.  Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.  Personal messages for the family may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
