Laura "Jean" Bradshaw, age 87, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully at home on the first day of Spring, March 20, 2017. Jean was born in Homer, Michigan on May 14, 1929, the loving daughter of Earnest and Eva (Thompson) Shilling and graduated from Tekonsha High School. She worked for Post Cereals and retired from the Kellogg Co. in 1989 after more than 32 years of faithful service.
Jean is survived by two sons, Brian (Sue) Bradshaw of Kalamazoo and Don Bradshaw of Battle Creek; a brother, Ernest (Sharon) Shilling of Florida; grandchildren, Melissa (Aaron) Kevin (Molly), Shannon (Bryan), Ryan (Erika), Amanda (Trevor), Briar (Leticia), Marah (Nathan), Ashley, Joe (Kate), and Jason (Britney); 14 great-grandchildren, and three daughter-in-laws, Jenny Kruczek, Wendy Bradshaw, and Donna Bradshaw. She was sadly preceded in death by her husband, Albert William Bradshaw; her son, C. Douglas Bradshaw; and three brothers, Max, Kenneth & Irving Shilling.
Jean was a member of the Kellogg 25 year Club. She enjoyed dancing, square dancing, traveling, going to garage sales, music and family gatherings.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 24th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where funeral services to celebrate Jean's life will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 25th. Interment will follow at Hicks West Pennfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the American Cancer Society.
