Laurel Lynn (Watts) Thwaites

Laurel Lynn Thwaites, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was born August 8, 1956 to Charles and Joyce (Seybert) Watts in Scotts, MI.
In 1974, Laurel graduated from Climax-Scotts High School, going on to earn an Associate's degree from Argubright Business College and a Bachelor's Degree from Davenport University. Laurel worked at the Hart-Doyle-Inouye Federal Center and was most recently employed at CHS Group in Battle Creek, MI. After a medical retirement, Laurel enjoyed spending time with friends at the Kool Family Community Center, crocheting and creating crafts to share with others.
She attended the Battle Creek Tabernacle for many years and continued to study scripture after her health no longer allowed regular church attendance.
With a big heart, Laurel made it her mission to make sure every stray cat (and skunk, raccoon, squirrel) had enough to eat and a place to keep warm. She was gentle soul and will be forever loved and missed by those who knew her.
Laurel is survived by her twin sister, Linda Bouffard, her children, Victoria (Steven) Lynn, Brian (Mabel) Watts, and grandchildren Nora, Amy, and Isaiah. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Viola.
In accordance with her wishes, there won't be a formal funeral service. A celebration of Laurel's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Calhoun County Animal Shelter. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
