After attending W.M.U. for a year, she married her high school sweetheart, Edward L. Geer, July 17, 1959. The next two years were spent in Norfolk, VA, where Ed was stationed with the U.S. Navy.

Laurie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Richland, where she taught Sunday School, edited the church newsletter for 2 ½ years, gave her time as president of the Women's Association and served as an elder for three years.

Laurie enjoyed music, books and travel, especially a memorable trip to England with family members in 1988. Most of all, she enjoyed her role as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by Ed, her husband of 41 years, and her parents. Surviving are Laurie's five children, David E. (Karen) Geer, Deborah A. (Barry) Allen, Amy D. Geer, Frank D. (Amber) Geer and Thomas J. Geer; her five beloved grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a brother, James R.
