Lavaune K. Artis

LaVaune Kathryn Artis, 80, of Battle Creek, MI peacefully left this world on November 14th, 2022 at Glenn Arbor Hospice to be reunited with our Lord and the Love of her Life, Tom.

LaVaune was born in Bellevue, MI to June (Pierce) Stewart and Herman Kifer on July 2, 1942. She married her best friend, Tom on March 11, 1963, and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2019. LaVaune was a cosmetologist and owned Cut N Curl and Heavenly Hair until she retired. She loved to travel with her husband in their RV and spend time with her family. She was an amazing gardener and loved working on her flower beds. She enjoyed spending time with her church family at Seventh Day Baptist Church.

She leaves behind 5 children, Art Woody of Seymour, TN; Laura (Artis) Teegarden of Culver, IN; Craig (Roxanne) Artis, Eric (Nancy) Artis, and Ed Artis all of Battle Creek, MI., along with 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brothers Robert (Sue) Stewart; Michael Kifer, and Robbie (Bonnie) Armantrout, brother-in-law Jim (Pam) Artis, and Sister in laws Mary Artis and Leslie Artis, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, loved friends and bonus grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Armantrout and brothers in laws Larry Artis and Jerry Artis.

Funeral services to celebrate LaVaune's life will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Seventh Day Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
