Lavonne J. (Hewitt) May, 77, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born in Battle Creek on January 5, 1941 the daughter of William and June (Prentice) Kissinger.
Lavonne was a waitress at some of the smaller family restaurants in the area and at the Dairy Queen on VanBuren Street in the early 80's.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Hewitt in 2009.
She is survived by sisters, Betty (Joe) Graft, Sharon (Charlie) Walker, Marilyn (John) Taylor, Kathy (Greg) Santora and several nieces and nephews. Lavonne enjoyed the company of her very best friend Anna Eberhard.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Beverly Parker.
Lavonne attended Potters Church, she enjoyed board games, Dominoes, Skip-Bo and doing jigsaw puzzles.
A graveside services to celebrate Lavonne's life was held on, September 4, 2018, at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI, with Pastor Doug Fleury officiating, where she was placed next to her husband, Albert.
