Leatrice J. "Tootie" (Warren) Johnson, 83 of Battle Creek died peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
She was born June 13, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan. As a child, she moved with her family to Battle Creek, where she resided her whole life. Tootie was a 1953 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. She was a church administrator at the First Congregational Church in Battle Creek and retired after 20+ years.
Leatrice J. Johnson was united in marriage to Robert Karl Johnson on September 5, 1954 at the First Congregational Church. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob on December 18, 1994; her parents, Earl and Thelma (Lake) Warren; and sisters, Glennerose Willoughby and Judy Pyatte. Surviving are three children, David E. (Kimberly) Johnson of Battle Creek; Karen K. (Brian) Hill of Pinckney, MI, Kim J. (Tom) Crowder of Troy AL; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Tom (Janet) Warren of Knoxville, TN.
A funeral service to celebrate Tootie's life will be officiated by Rev. Robert Heine at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018. Friends will be received 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday and following the service at the funeral home. Committal and interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
