Lee D. Williams, age 68, of Portage passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on November 29, 1947, the son of Lee Delton and Ruth P. (Howell) Williams Sr. Lee faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Lee married LuAnn "Lu" Barnes on June 26, 2002; she sadly preceded him in death on September 18, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his beautiful granddaughter, Tiffany Williams on July 3, 2011; a sister, Judy Williams, and a brother, Doug Williams. Lee is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Dale) Miller, Debbie (Dale) Allard, Shonda (Mike Phares) Williams, and Jen (Shawn) Ritter; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his brother and sisters, Dorothy Vann, Nancy Caprez, and Larry (Linda) Williams; and Lu's sons, Jonathon (Allison) Barnes, Justin (Jessie) Barnes, and their 3 children.
Family was always #1 to Lee and he truly loved spending as much time with his family as he could. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan, and thoroughly enjoyed playing softball & baseball over the years, and visiting casinos and garage sales.
The family will receive friends 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2015 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel 9170 East D. Ave. (M-89), Richland, MI 49083 where funeral services to celebrate Lee's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek.
