Lester N. "Les" Heidmous

Lester N. Heidmous, age 84 of Augusta, Michigan passed peacefully on May 16, 2023. He was surrounded by his family during his last days.

He was born in Detroit, MI on September 20, 1938 to Sadie and Najim Heidmous.

Beloved husband to Carol Heidmous. Cherished father to Tracy McAllister (Raymond), Mathew Heidmous (Lori), and Dana Heidmous. Stepfather to José Vazquez (Heather) and Tony Vazquez (Mary). Loving Grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Uncle to numerous nephews and nieces. Les is preceded in death by all of his siblings, George, Walter, Josephine, Christine, Rose and Louis, and his grandson, Bryce Worthington.

Les was the youngest of all of his siblings and the first in the family to earn a college degree. He graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a Bachelor’s in Industrial Management in 1960.

Lester retired from Graphic Enterprises in 2001 with over 35 impressive years in the Printing Sales Industry. He was known for his keen business sense, strong customer service and honesty. Many of his colleagues became his friends.

After retirement, Les assisted Carol with managing the several Hallmark stores they owned. They also had more time to travel, golf and just spend precious time together. He enjoyed get-togethers with friends and family and everyone felt welcomed by him, even if you were wearing an MSU or Ohio State shirt. Les was an avid U of M fan!

He was also an accomplished golfer and managed to get 2 aces in his lifetime.

Les will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel 9170 East D. Ave. (M-89) Richland, MI 49083 where services to celebrate his life will begin at 12:00 noon.  The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/event/3411636/381526fd9a  A luncheon will follow and details will be announced at the service.   In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Personal messages for the family and favorite memories of Les may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
