Lila L. Boucher, 89, of Richland, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at her residence. Lila was born March 13, 1924 in Detroit to Marie Hannah and was adopted by Arthur and Alta DeForest at the age of 4. She graduated from Marshall High School and volunteered in the Cadet Core of Nursing during WWII. She then graduated from the Wayne St. School of Nursing in 1946 and the Community Hospital School of nursing in 1947. She worked at various hospitals in the Battle Creek are before retiring from the VA Medical Center.
Lila was a member of the Kalamazoo Garden Club, watching her children play sports and enjoyed traveling and spending summers at Burt Lake on vacation.
Lila is survived by her three sons, Craig L. Boucher, Michael B. (Andrea) Boucher and Scott W. Boucher; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Lila married Clarence E. on July 7, 1946 in Battle Creek. He sadly preceded her in death on March 16, 2000. Lila was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, Clarence Boucher Jr. in 1990.
A memorial visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Ave, Richland 49083, where a memorial service to celebrate Lila's life will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, officiated by Pastor Tony Mlynarek.
