Lillian Ethel Burns Bottom, 86, of Battle Creek died peacefully at home with her family at her side on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
She was born May 21, 1930 in Springfield, Kentucky the daughter of Luther and Florene (Lanham) Burns. Lillian was a well-known and respected member of her community. She was an Avon representative for over 40 years. Lillian was employed for the Battle Creek Public School System and the Adult Education Program at Miller Stone for over 30 years. Lillian was a member of the Urbandale Baptist Church and loved playing the piano and organ for Sunday services. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, gardening, bowling and loving her large family.
Lillian was preceded in death by two husbands, William Kyle Bottom and Anthony Paul Brown; an infant son, William Clarence Bottom; two daughters, Lanetta "Kathy" Bottom Cochran and Joyce Ann Bottom; her parents; and three brothers, Jake Burns, Robert Burns and infant brother, Kenneth Burns. Lillian was the mother of ten children and is survived by daughters, Bonnie (John) Kilgore of Charlotte, MI, Barbara (Jerry) Wofford, Blanche (Jack) Winters, Florenda "Kay" Uselton, Tami (Tim) Collige and Tonya Fields all of Battle Creek, MI, and one son, William "Keith" Bottom of Loudonville, OH; 19 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.
Lillian's family will receive friends at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Robert L. Zuhl at the funeral home 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017.
