Linda Marie & Ashlyn Alexandra "Honeybug" Hubbard

Linda Marie Hubbard, age 32 and her daughter, Ashlyn Alexandra "Honeybug" Hubbard, age 5 months, of East Leroy, MI








They died unexpectedly Saturday morning, March 29, 2014 at their residence.


Linda, the daughter of Robert L. and Patricia K. (McCormick) Hubbard, Jr., was born on August 26, 1981 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was 1999 graduate in the top ten of her class from Pennfield High School and graduated with a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering Degree from Western Michigan University in 2006.


Ashlyn was born on October 17, 2013 in Kalamazoo, MI and was the center of Linda's life. She was a smiley angel and joyous baby that was truly loved by her grandparents, Bob and Patti!


Linda had been employed for the past 18 years and was very proud to be in the family business, Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service and was now its Operations Manager, but her greatest joy in her life was being a loving mother to Ashlyn. She had a passion for music having played the bassoon, first chair in the Pennfield Band; attended numerous concerts and she was an avid dancer having taken lessons since age 3. Even though she had a tremendous background in the sciences, she still loved the arts especially painting and she was known to get her hands dirty in her gardening endeavors.


Surviving and mourning their loss of both Linda and Ashlyn are Bob and Patti Hubbard of East Leroy; Linda's sisters, Sandra K. (Gabe) Miller of Niles, MI and Susan E. (Nick Probol) Hubbard of Kalamazoo; Linda's niece, Elizabeth K. Miller of Niles; paternal grandparents, Robert L. (Jan) Hubbard, Sr. of Constantine, MI and Patricia A. (Ray Springer) Crum of Kalamazoo; maternal grandparents, George W. "Bill" (Peggy) McCormick of Parchment, MI; aunts and uncles, Pamela A. (Tom) Gregg of Vicksburg, MI, Dale W. (Connie) Hubbard of Portage, MI, Nancy K. (Jim) Marks, Jeff W. McCormick, Ron W. (Angee) McCormick, Jane A. McCormick and Jon L. McCormick - all of Kalamazoo and Rick G. (Kelly) McCormick of Richland, MI and many cousins. Linda was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Winifred K. Abell on August 24, 2013; her maternal, step-grandfather, Carl Abell in 2006 and two uncles, Michael L. McCormick and Ronald J. Hubbard. Bob and Patti would like to extend a personal "Thank You" to Tori, Kylee and Jayla Eckman for all their attention showered on Ashlyn at NACG Children's Center.


The Funeral Service to celebrate Linda and Ashlyn's lives will be held on Friday, April 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the North Avenue Church of God, 1079 North Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49017, with Rev. Jeff Eckman, Pastor, officiating. A continuation of their life celebration will immediately follow the Service with a time of fellowship and a luncheon in the Church's Fellowship Hall. Final interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3rd from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek. Memorial contributions in their honor may be directed to the North Avenue Church of God.
