Linda June (Weddle) Jones Miller

Linda June (Weddle) Jones Miller, 91, of Battle Creek died at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility on Monday, December 31, 2018.

She was born June 3, 1927 in Girard, Illinois the daughter of Dewey and Mary (Stowe) Weddle. Linda grew up in Virginia and at age 12 moved with her family to Battle Creek, where she attended Battle Creek Public and Central High School. She was employed at the former Palmer & Green Appliance Repair and at Robinson's Department Store.

Linda was formerly married to John P. Jones. Linda J. (Weddle) Jones married Everett L. Miller on July 29, 1978 at First Christian Church in Battle Creek. Sadly Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Everett on July 14, 2011. Surviving are her children, Larry (Fran) Jones of Grand Rapids, MI, Gary (Jan) Jones of Longmont, CO, Jim (Sandy) Jones of Tampa, FL, Mike (Terry) Jones of Marshall, MI; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Jones of Climax, MI; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Jerry) Bunce of Battle Creek, MI and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her husband, Everett she was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Jack Baird; a son, Rick Jones and a sister, Nancy Ellison.

Linda was a member of First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Linda enjoyed reading, crocheting, making afghans, quilts, doing needlepoint and counted cross stich. She loved Southern Gospel Music, books on tape after her eyesight failed and spending time with her family.

Friends will be received 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where a funeral service to celebrate Linda's life will be officiated by Pastor Kingery Clingenpeel 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019. Committal and interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
