Linda S. Reish, 68, of Battle Creek, died at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
She was born in November of 1944 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Paul Daniel and Frances (Stockham) Applegate. Linda was raised in Kalamazoo and was a 1957 graduate of Loy Norrix High School and received an Associate Degree in Computer Science from Kellogg Community College. Linda held various positions over her 34 year career in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek at Family & Children Services, where her last position, prior to her illness, was Administrative Assistant for the Home Community Intervention Division in Battle Creek.
Linda was formerly married to James Bowen in 1962 and Robert Reish in 1967. Surviving are two sons, James E. Bowen of Rockwall, TX and Michael B. (Karren) Reish of Lansing, MI; a sister, Jean Friedman of Cleveland, OH; her cousins and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda was a member of the Scottish Society. She was a volunteer tutor for computer programming classes at Kellogg Community College. Linda enjoyed knitting, flower gardening, reading and cooking for family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013. Inurnment will be held for her family at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo.
