February 26, 1948 — January 14, 2014

Lloyd Andrew "Andy" Wicklund of Tekonsha, MI and formerly of Kalamazoo, MI

Andy, age 65, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, January 14, 2014 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo following a courageous fight against cancer.

Andy, the son of Lloyd Arthur and Julia Marie (Ralph) Wicklund, was born on February 26, 1948 in Tacoma, WA and was a 1966 graduate of St. John's High School of Jackson, MI. He served his country honorably and nobly as an SP 4 in the United States Army in Korea during the Viet Nam War. Andy returned to Jackson and then to the Kalamazoo area after his military service and was employed at HB Fuller, then to Checker Motors Company, and eventually retired as a Printing Press Operator for James River Paper Company, where he was also the Union Steward. He was currently Post Commandeer of the V.F.W. Red Arrow Post # 1527 of Kalamazoo, MI and was a member of the American Legion. His joys in life were fishing, hunting, bowling and woodworking; his favorite pastime was riding his Heritage Soft-Tail Harley with his Post buddies, but his true passion in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

Andy's survivors include his daughter, Katrina S. (Terry) Shedd of Tekonsha; his son, Keith A. (Tiffani) Wicklund of Fenton, IL; three step-daughters, Tasha Smalley, Carrie Potter and Shana Larrabee; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his mother, Julia (Wicklund) Hogle of Jackson; three sisters, Joy (John) Niles of The Villages, Fl, Jill (Joe) Massoglia of Westerville, OH and Jean Brier of Jackson, MI; three brothers, Martin (Ruby) Wicklund and Timothy (Amy) Wicklund, both of Jackson and Thomas (Linda) Wicklund of Oswego, IL and many nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd.
