Lois Elaine (Bresett) Waite

Lois Elaine Waite, 96, of Battle Creek, died peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.

Lois was born August 30, 1928, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Morley and Dorothy (Kimball) Bresett. Lois grew up in Battle Creek and attended Battle Creek Public Schools.

Lois Elaine Bresett was united in marriage to Devene Robert Waite on March 20, 1947. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on February 15, 1985. Robert was a four-year U.S. Marine Corps WWII veteran.

Robert’s profession took them to Florida, Indiana and in 1983 back to Michigan, where Lois worked for Calhoun County Medical Care Facility in Day Care.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nancy Waite of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Todd Vickie) Zimmerman of Oneida, FL, Ryan Waite of Greenwood, IN; great-grandchildren, Alex Zimmerman of Oneida, FL; a brother, Robert Bresett of Battle Creek; and a special niece, Kim Bresett; special nephews, and great grand-nieces and great grand-nephews and their families. In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Waite; and brothers, Richard, William and Ronald Bresett.

During her final days, Lois was surrounded by her family. The family is grateful to the Third-Floor Medial Staff of Bronson Hospital for their compassion and professionalism that helped them navigate the end of a life well lived.

Lois will be laid to rest next to her husband, Robert, at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
